Bison park

Bison park is situated to the north from Municipality of Lovce, about 10 kilometres from Topoľčianky. It was established in 1958 with purpose to save bisons threatened by extinction. Bisons are the biggest European mammals and currently they live only in protected areas. The biggest individuals reach height of 2 metres and lenght of 3 metres weighing around 1 500 kg.

Bison park covers an area of 140 hectares and it is dimensioned for 12 bisons. To date more than 120 individuals were reared in the park. The 2500 metres long educational trail with vertical drop of 40 metres around all the park was opened in 2008. All the circuit is complemented with informational boards and besides more detailed information on life of bisons it also gives information on all the interesting animals that are living and can be seen in the forest. It is possible to get closer to bisons always during feeding that takes place each day at 9:00 and 14:00. The entrance fee is 1 € adult, 0,50 € children, student, pensioner.

from 9:00 to 17:00 h in months of May-September
from 9:00 to 15:00 h in months of October-April
