Do you know where you can see UFO in Nitra? Attention, it is not an object of extra-terrestrial civilization or flying object. This is how students in Nitra nicknamed Aula maxima of Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.

Its lenticular dome had become a symbol of town under Zobor that you cannot overlook, and along with other objects at the university premises - pool in front of hall, pavilion A, Z, T, CH and connecting corridor A and B with auditoria and laboratories, the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic had put it on a list of national cultural monuments on 11 April 2014.

University complex was built in the years 1961-1966 according to project of architect Vladimír Dedeček and Rudolf Miňovský from 1959. It is one of the most important realizations of this kind in Slovakia and at the same time one of the most quality works of domestic post-war modernism. Its architectonical qualities, use of new construction and structural technologies rank it among unique works of European architecture.

Work was in period of construction judged positively in both national and international press, also German magazine DBZ published about it what was then a rare recognition of local architectonical production. It was inserted in most of collective publications on Slovak architecture. Area is an important feature in panorama of town of Nitra.
